on February 9, 2009My last battalion was NMCB#5....You guys remember we used to call them MOB's...Over my years of service, I served with #2,4,5,6,and 9...Both times I was in Vietnam in 69 and again in 69 I was with FIVE....Spent a couple of years with DISASTER RECOVERY TRAINING P/HUE where one of my students was Marvin Shields, the only Seabee to be awarded the Medal of Honor...Taught a couple of years at the Davisville CONSTRUCTION TRAINING UNIT.. I'm retired and live in Glendale,Arizona. I write stories about the Seabees, war and peace, and a variety of other subjects...If you go to Google and punch in:
VIETNAM WAR STORIES BY JOHN H. WILBORN and scroll down to that list...

on November 11, 2008Hello My Name Is Fred Allodoli, and I believe I did authorized Terry to go ahead with showing my pictures of the Liberty bridge, and have just checked but do not see them. So let me reconfirm authorization, its OK to show the pictures on your web site. On the List of specific details, the distance needs to be changed from 80 miles to actually 35 miles from DaNang as I drove on the liberty road many times in a 5 ton dump truck loaded with TNT for blasting on the South west side as we hit solid rock. In any case you have my permission to list the pictures.

PS. Chief Albright nick name was Pappy. Also recently I spoke with 5 more men who were there with me, and are in the pictures. I also have three aerial shots taken form an F-4, which I'll try to get those pictures listed on my site, but that might be a bit harder as I need Bandwidth for my site.
